Join us as we partner with NatureVation outdoor adventures for an early autumn hike and wine tasting adventure.

We’ll hike the trails of Hogback Ridge reservation with its unique geological formations, steep cliffs and hidden waterfalls of the Grand River. Hogback Ridge Park is named for its most prominent natural feature: a high narrow ridge of land bounded on two sides by steep valleys. This type of ridge is named for its resemblance to the bony spine of a hog.

Elaine Price, former president and CEO of the Holden Arboretum will lead us on this three-mile adventure.   We’ll hike for about 1.5 hours on 2 separate trails. There’s elevation change yet boardwalk stairs where it’s steep. Folks should wear solid, closed shoes and plan to get their shoes wet in order to walk out onto the small waterfall/cascade in the river.

Then, enjoy a late lunch while sampling the wines of South River Winery, overlooking a Tuscany Style vineyard.  The South River Winery is housed in a century-old church that originally sat in Shalersville, Ohio.

Now operating as a boutique winery in Harpersfield, Ohio since 2002, South River Vineyard has established itself as a quiet, relaxing, and most unique place to enjoy a fantastic view of the vineyards with quality wine and good company.  If time permits and guests are interested, we can stroll folks across the field on a nice trail to their companion distillery, Red River Spirits.  (cash bar.)

Ticket includes van transportation, guided hike, lunch and wine tasting.  Van space — therefore tickets — are limited.
